About Me

head-shot-web-size.jpgI love to write and have the privilege of writing a monthly Health & Wellness column for a local newspaper.

The purpose of this blog is to expand on some of the stories I share in my column and to have an outlet to talk about any subject that I want to talk about.

My mother wrote a column for a newspaper in the 1950’s and it was titled Homespun Highlights. I wanted to continue her legacy with this blog. I will be sharing lots of stories about what it was like to grow up in the South, the daughter of a very strict minister. I am the 5th of six children, so I have plenty to talk about!

I’ve been a fitness professional, educator, and instructor for nearly two decades. Fitness is a passion, but not the only one. I also own a wedding and event design business. I can tell plenty of stories about that too, so be watching for funny bride stories.

Most of all, I hope that my posts will make you laugh, or at least bring a smile to your face. This is my purpose!

Blessings to all.

Pam

    Pam,
Having just returned from a trip to my beloved “Smokies”, your words from “There’s Smoke Coming Out of Them Thar Chimneys” could have come straight from my heart! I don’t know what it is or how to explain it but I have to get to the Chimney’s picnic area to get my “fix” of mountains! It is my favorite place on earth. It refreshes the soul! Thank you for your beautiful words!
